The village of Needingworth is located just a few miles from the cities of Cambridge, Ely and Peterborough, and the historic market towns of St.Ives and Huntingdon.

Land adjacent to the Pike and Eel has been earmarked for transformation into one of the UK's largest protected wetlands areas, and promises to be a haven for wildlife and birds.

St.Ives' historic bridge
St.Ives bridge, one of only two of its kind in the UK. The traditional entrance to this beautiful market town.

Historic St.Ives is quite unique. With its 15th Century buildings and blend of traditional styles, it is a jewel in the local area. Even if you only have the chance for just a short visit, we are sure that you'll enjoy your time.

Steeped in history, St.Ives had an important role to play. Pay a visit to the Town's Norris Museum and you will gain an insight into some of the town's past. Watch out though, you are in Oliver Cromwell country!

If whisky is your favourite tipple, visit J Wadsworth's located on The Broadway, St.Ives.

It boasts probably the biggest selection of whiskies in Britain, with nearly 400 different malts, never mind the 900 different wines, 40 different brandies and a selection of rums, vodkas, sherries and ports that go to make this a quite unique shop.

With modern transport links, you can visit a wide area yet still be able to easily return to the tranquility of this hospitable town.

At Hilton, just 5 miles away, you can walk the turf maze, one of only a handful of its kind in Britain.

Lucy Boston's House at Hemingford
Lucy Boston's House at Hemingford.

Visit the twin villages of Hemingford Abbots and Hemingford Grey, just two miles from St.Ives, and you will find beautiful rural traditional village settings with many thatched period cottages. Amongst which nestles Lucy Bostons House, the famous author of children's books. This house is reputed to be the oldest continually inhabited house in England.

Don't forget Anglesea Abbey, Audley End House, Wimpole Hall, horseracing at Huntingdon, Cambridge's Colleges ...

With such a wealth of local interests, we're sure that there is something for everyone.
